“All Along The Watchtower”

As I see the wonderful world,
we are at a tumultuous crossroads
in the story of man's brilliant existence.

What path we choose
depends on subtle nuances,
a shake of the hand, facial expression.

Whether we accept us
for who we are, or burn up
crossing the sands of eternal time.

Crawling to answer questions,
one hand in front of the other slowly,
one knee following in great despair in mankind.

There should be no questions really,
we are all mankind upon one home of earth,
which we are surely destroying at a rapid pace daily.

Wildfires burn down the planet,
driving the beautiful creatures of nature
into desolate homelessness, much like man's story.

For we are slowly poisoning ourselves,
not the Martians, the Republicans or the devil,
we are wasting and stealing our own precious resources.

We are stealing our own dreams,
our own treasures of life so awe-inspiring,
can gold sustain our last living breath like oxygen.

Where will it all end, this theft,
at the end I suppose, not rocket science,
we are the real thieves of our dreams so sweet.

Where shall humanity journey now,
another far off unexpecting star to pollute
with ignorant build a better mousetrap mentality.

What should we aspire to,
to become better humans with a heart,
when we should have been that since Eden.
