“As Darkness Falls”

When I die do not cry,
remember our September to December affair
to true love shared, but not to last.

Just a taste of such passion,
enabled me to believe in true love, not to deceive,
not just mere words. but embraces.

Just a poet trying to survive,
yet my artistic soul bleeds ink as I falter in this life,
penned rhymes for reasons to breathe.

Emotions seem to bury me,
as I write the regretful stories of a tragic humanity,
it doesn't seem to matter, but our lives do.

Sincerely going to miss you my love,
when I am finally gone and the ink has finally dried,
for my tainted soul please do not shed a tear.

As the sun sets in the west
I'll miss your mesmerizing brown eyes the most
they shined like the romantic moon.

Closing my eyes for the last time
will bring back memories of our passionate love,
keeping me warm as the darkness falls.
