“Dead In The Water?”

I have not failed to learn
the burn is there,
trying to ignite my yearning heart.

But will I let breathe again,
only to be shattered
like a boat against the rocks.

The cold, turbulent water
rushing inward,
smothering the flames o romance.

Or will I let it burn out
so memorable,
of broken hearts gone by.

In retrospect to love at all,
is better than hiding
in a dark room letting it pass me by.

Hopefully my chance at the last dance
won't ran out of gas,
leaving me alone afloat in stillest waters.
