“The Burning Down Of The World”

Tears flowing like rivers
from a once dead heart,
for the world of humanity.

Sadness seems to be prevalent
in the eyes of our world,
worried about our very survival
in South America's rain forest.

We are burning down our home,
raging rampant like a fire
blazing over the land of man,
in Australia's vast Outback.

Burning the regal redwoods
as ancient as the stars,
will the fierce heat ever end
in the hills of California.

Who buries the dead dreams
as flames consume their souls,
not just another fire,
but the death of a world's hope.
