I wonder about existence. . . .
how a bird flies
why a baby cries,
why a tree grows,
why the wind blows.
Simple things I guess,
but what about the other mess,
the one we made of the world,
green icons flying flag unfurled,
as we burn and learn
why pain roams our home,
or what is left of it,
as we try to save its sprit.
Is there still a glimmer of hope
while hanging from our rope,
or do we just simply give up,
as our souls become corrupt.
No we as a society must carry on
in a new compassionate dawn,
to erase the emotional scars,
before we can live beyond the stars.
This is not our last empathetic dance
in the art of mankind's romance. . . .
as I sit here and wonder will we survive.
