As I lay down to die,
please do not cry.
My final sunrise is my glory,
your vibrant stars my final page.
I was lucky to have you
for as long as I did.
Now I must go like a cowboy,
riding off into the lonely sunset.
I never will be this way again,
wandering aimlessly toward
what is my final destination,
that which burns my heart intently.

Very well written. This poem really captures the moment of accepting the reality of one’s mortality with out being nihilistic. 🤓⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘
