Do we really know who we are,
as the race of humanity,
as the human race enters another year.
Men, women, children, elderly,
humanitarians, terrorists, religious fanatics,
lovers, haters, illegal aliens.
This is what we are, who we are,
what we aspire to be,
the good, bad and the ugly of mankind.
The compassionate ones, junkies,
the romantics, the rich, the poor, politicians,
criminals, the optimist, the pessimist,
Have we truly learned that diversity
is a good thing indeed,
not a Nazi robot regime free will killer of man.
The wolves wait in the shadows,
to fiercely feast upon our tender human souls
possessed by an apathetic diverse society.
Is human love preached by Jesus
our fine line guiding light,
we love to hope and hope to find true love
Just as a dreamer of our world
hopes their aspirations and dreams come true,
while they wish upon a falling star. . . . .
All this at the end of a colorful human rainbow.Timothy Michael DiVito c2020
