“Fade Into Memory”

Fading like smoke on the air
across the landscape
of our very sacred romance

A ghost in my soul remembered
in a clouded mind
the lingering touch of passion.

Memories are all I have of you
upon the landscape
of unfulfilled aspirations

No more kisses in the dark
of star filled nights
or breakfast in bed mornings.

Just a misty apparition
remembered now
clinging to life, one last breath.
