“Even On The Grayest Days”

It is the setting of the sun,
the closing of my eyes
for an eternity of gray days.

No more mosaic sky
above the green grass of home,
now brown and withered.

No taste of honey lips
of sweet excitement,
now a butter pill to swallow.

No glistening midnights
above the romantic serene world,
empty of sweet tenderness.

The sun hides behind the moon
the night bleeds into the day
you aspire to save me from shadows.

My eyes gaze upon your smile,
I again feel hope in our universal love
surviving even on the grayest days.
