I have been burning
for so long,
I smell the smoke from my soul,
lingering across universal time,
evading the air
evoking emotion in my mortal sins.
Breathe I dare not, yet must,
as I journey
to this thing called death’s finality.
Love’s lost, love miraculously found,
where do I go
to discover peace of mind. . . in your arms.
As I lay down to my demise
let me gaze
in your eyes, to bathe in your passion of life.
As my light wanes upon the day
I yearn for romantic nights,
of memories burning deep from within.
Taste of one last kiss my love
upon my blue lips,
my revival far beyond our sultry tango.
Closing my vision of you
upon this final act,
leads me to believe love was mine in the end.
